Vijay and Pawan, akin?

Monday, April 28th, 2008

There seems to be a lot of similarity running between Vijay, the hero of Kollywood and Pawan Kalyan the power star of Tollywood. If you are wondering whether we are talking about their looks you are mistaken.

We are scanning some of the films they have done in Tamil and Telugu respectively. If Vijay has acted in the Tamil version of ‘Kushi’, it was Pawan who had done the honors in Telugu. If there was a ‘Bhadri’ starring Vijay in Tamil there was the Telugu version too that had Pawan doing the lead role.

Now there are reports doing the rounds that Pawan Kalyan will be starring in a film titled ‘Puli’ that might have Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor playing the lead lady. The film will be directed by none other than S.J. Suriya.

Actually S.J, Suriya had created ‘Puli’ having Vijay in mind, but for some reason the Tamil version did not kick off so there are talks doing the rounds that the director is planning to make the film first in Telugu.

We are not sure if there will be a later version in Telugu but anticipation is running wild among some in the Kollywood industry – because of the similarity in the roles played by Vijay and Pawan – if the film might soon be remade in Tamil too.

‘Isai Puyal’ A.R. Rahman will be composing music for this film.

‘Puli’ in Telugu will be produced by Singanamala Ramesh and rumors are running wild that choreographers from Hollywood will be putting the stunt sequences together. Bollywood cinematographer Binod Pradhans will be handing the camera for ‘Puli’.

Poonam Bajwa debuts in Kollywood

Monday, April 28th, 2008

She is a known face in Tollywood. Poonam has acted in lead roles in Telugu films like ‘Boss’, ‘Veduka’ and ‘Modati Chitram’ to name a few. But success has always eluded this budding talent.

Maybe with her entry into Kollywood she can re-write her fate. All stars go through this phase at some point in their life. But the best thing about Poonam is that she has kept on trying.

Soon Poonam Bajwa will be seen on the Tamil screens acting opposite Jeeva in her next film titled ‘Thenavattu’. This film is being directed by V.V. Kadi and will release under the banner of E.V.L. Productions.

We will bring you more updates on this film as and when they happen, till then be tuned into Indiaglitz.
