This has been one of the long awaited movies from the hats of successful director Jayaraj from Mollywood. Are you wondering who Jayaraj is?  If you remember the film ‘4 Students’ that was a dubbing of Malayalam movie 4 The People and he is the director of this one. Marking his entry into Kollywood, Sila Nerangalil is a movie that in no way will carry the usual commercial stuffs.

Being a musical-thriller, this flick is all just for 2 hours and Director Jayaraj is says, “The film will get audiences get fixed with the movie for the whole time”. Vincent Ashokan for the first time plays lead role along with Vineeth and Navya Nair.

Vellithirai opening on March 7

Duet Movies collaborated with Mirchi Movies and Moser Baer producing 3 films together: Vellithirai, Abhiyum Naanum and Mayilu. With the two films still getting canned, Vellithirai hits the screens on March 7. The film is a remake of Malayalam movie ‘Udhayananu Tharam’ and has Prithviraj, Prakash Raj, Gopika and Lakshmi Rai playing lead roles. 

Debutant Viji marks his directorial maiden with this film and earlier had penned dialogues for Azhagiya Theeye, Ponnyin Selvan and Mozhi. Known for his comedy glued dialogues, Viji has added more humour to the entire film.

 Prakash Raj plays the role of a leading hero and Lakshmi Rai as heroine while Prithviraj as assistant director. Prakash Raj in few scenes will be imitating Superstar Rajnikanth of how an old actor still makes it successful pairing up with young heroines.

Akku – trendsetting flick of Kollywood

The film has no big star casts and crews to make it sensational, but ‘Akku’ is peaking to top the chart. Released this Friday along Thotta and Sila Nerangalil, this film is receiving good critics. Director Mamani inspired by Hollywood movie like Cellular, Phone Booth and Speed has directed this 90mins feature.

The film has no songs, comedy tracks and any unwanted shots. The film is about a terrorist setting bomb into the shoes of an IT professional and he has to keep running now with no fixed terminus. Does he come out this problem joining hands with his ladylove who happens to be the sister of terrorist forms crux of the story. If such directors possessing innovative themes are welcomed and offered chances by great producers, then Tamil cinema is sure to witness an abrupt growth in the world of cinema.
